The department of Home science was started in the year 2013 with an undergraduate
course in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. The students are trained in the subjects
like food science, microbiology, Nutrition, Physiology, Clinical nutrition and dietetics,
sports nutrition and food service management with special emphasis being placed
its implementation in the field of paramedical and
food industry. This undergraduate program also provide scientific, technological
and managerial skills needed for graduates entering into business administration
in the field of nutrition.
The teaching methods used for our students
equip themselves to face the challenging world are:

Outbound training-attending nutrition related conferences, seminars and workshop.
Ø
Activity based teaching-practical exposure, home experiments and Demonstration.
Ø
Visual aids-Smart class presentation, video and power point presentation.
Ø
Industrial visit- The department is in association with Super Speciality hospital
and food industries for internship and one day visit. The association of the department
organizes programs and invite experts in the relevant field to talk on subject related
to nutrition and health which helps to create awareness among the public in this
field.
