Our Founder
SHRI NANALAL BHATT SHRIMATHI DEVKUNVAR
The college was started in 1968 with the generous
donation of 10 acres of land by our Late Founder
Chairman Shri Nanalal Bhatt and 6 lakhs donated by
Cork Industries Charities Trust.
The College stands in the name of our Late Founder
Chairman’s wife Shrimathi Devkunvar and
it has efficiently rendered four decades of dedicated service to the
cause of women’s education in the Kancheepuram District
The vision of our founder was to Educate the girl children,
with this mission in mind he started the Shrimathi Devkunvar Nanalal Bhatt Vaishnav college with 300 girls
with only P.U.C then, We Now cater to as many as 6046 Girls and offering Arts,
Science and Commerce in Aided and Unaided streams.
He devoted his life for the upliftment of women through education.

- 2006 - Autonomous Status Conferred.
- 2011 - Re-Accredited by NAAC with A Grade
- 2012 - Upgraded as Research Centre
- 2013 - Extension of Autonomy
- 2014 - Star College Scheme was sanctioned in 2014 by Department of Bio-technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India,New Delhi to the departments of Physics, Chemistry, Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology.
